Many Pieces: One Spirit: Odessa College Jackrabbit Reimagined
As Odessa College celebrates its 80th anniversary, the sculpture formerly known as Symphony De Bunnie has been reimagined as Many Pieces: One Spirit, a mosaic artwork created by Colombian visual artist and art educator Yennifer Cano Rojas. The original six-foot jackrabbit was part of Odessa’s Jackrabbit Jamboree tradition, which began in 2004 when local artists transformed jackrabbit sculptures into works of public art. Symphony De Bunnie was designed by artist Wesley Haynie and purchased by Janet Wood. It remained part of the Odessa College landscape for more than two decades.
Odessa College invites Community to 30 for 30 Fitness Challenge Kickoff
The countdown is on! Odessa College invites students, employees and community members to get ready to build a healthy habit and join the 2026 30 for 30 Fitness Challenge. Everyone is invited to the 30 for 30 Kickoff at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the newly enhanced Odessa College Softball and Tennis Complex. Guests can enjoy the facility under its new lighting, participate in a pickleball tournament and get ready for 30 days of movement and motivation.
Odessa College Opens Registration For 2026 Car Show Benefiting The Elijah Barrera Memorial Scholarship Fund
Registration is now open for the 2026 Odessa College Car Show, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the OC Sewell Auto Tech Building, located at 2425 E. 8th Street in Odessa. Car enthusiasts from across the region are invited to showcase their vehicles while supporting a meaningful cause. All registration fees benefit the Elijah Barrera Memorial Scholarship Fund, which honors Barrera’s legacy and supports Odessa College students as they pursue their Automotive Technology degree.
Odessa College Invites Community to 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Reveal of “Many Pieces: One Spirit”
Odessa College invites the community to join us in celebrating 80 years of history, tradition and shared spirit and the official reveal of OC's redesigned jackrabbit sculpture, “Many Pieces: One Spirit,” a symbol representing the college’s next chapter. The celebration, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Rudy Acosta Pavilion on the OC main campus, will feature family-friendly yard games and jumpers, performances by the award-winning OC Blues dance team and the OHS student band, food, and music and entertainment by DJ Manuel.

Registration is officially open for the 2026 Odessa College 30 for 30 Fitness Challenge, presented by Medical Center Health System. This year, participants can register, track their progress and stay connected throughout the challenge using the new Odessa College app.
