Orientation is FREE and MANDATORY for incoming students that have already applied and been accepted to Odessa College.
If you have not yet applied to the college, the application is FREE - Visit the OC Apply Now website for more information on the application process.

Wrangler Orientation is FREE and MANDATORY for all incoming Odessa College students.
What to Bring
Before you complete Wrangler Orientation, make sure you have the following information accessible:
- Photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or school ID)
- License Plate Number if you want to setup your parking permit
- Phone
- Walking shoes, Water Bottle, Light Jacket
- Your Odessa College Letter of Acceptance that gives you your 7-digit "Odessa College Student Identification Number" (If you have recently Applied and have not yet received your letter, please use "0123456", if you have not yet applied to Odessa College, please put "0000000").
- Make sure you have completed the necessary testing for placement. This includes one of the following: TSI, SAT or ACT. You are not required to take all of the above tests, but your scores must meet the minimum scores required by the college before you can register for courses. - Proof of Meningitis Vaccine (if younger than 22 years of age)
- Official Academic Transcripts (High School or all previously-attended college transcripts)
- Test Scores (TSIA, ACT, SAT, STARR or College Bridge Certificate)
- Comfortable clothes/shoes
- Water bottle
- Light jacket (rooms can be cold)
- Notebook and pen (for jotting down important info)
- Class schedule or any pre-enrollment materials

FAQ's
For orientation, bring a photo ID, have your OCID noted on your phone, and any required documents. It’s helpful to have your phone (fully charged), a charger, something to write notes with or on. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring a light jacket, and a water bottle. Come prepared with questions so you can make the most of the day.
Check-in will be on the 2nd floor of the Wood Health and Sciences Building (MCH Simulation Hospital) – 201 W University Blvd, Odessa, TX 79764 - [SEE MAP HERE]
During Wrangler Orientation, there will be plenty of free items for incoming students, including totes, name tags, and a resource folder provided at check-in. Student Leaders will guide you around campus in groups, have you apply and highlight scholarship opportunities, and help you get familiar with important resources. Wrangler Orientation is also a great opportunity to meet new people and set yourself up for success in the fall semester.
Students who leave early will not receive orientation credit. To successfully complete orientation, students must attend all presentations for the Wrangler Orientation day they are registered for. If you are unable to stay for the full program, please email orientation@odessa.edu so we are informed and can provide alternative resources if needed.
During the summer, campus hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
The Wrangler Express Center is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
You are encouraged to talk to an advisor or take care of any holds at the Wrangler Express Center, before and after Orientation.
The Health Department will be available during all six Summer Wrangler Orientation sessions to provide the bacterial meningitis vaccine for students and community members.
Clinic times vary by date:
- June 9, July 30, August 8: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- June 25, August 11: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- July 15: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
The clinic is available before or after your orientation session. Be sure to review the correct time for your selected date.

If you are unable to attend orientation in person, whether you live outside the area such as another city, state, or country, or have other circumstances, please complete the form below. The Orientation Coordinator will follow up with you regarding your request.
- Students taking summer courses or enrolled in non-credit programs are also encouraged to participate in orientation, which is available online.
- To request access to the online orientation, submit THIS FORM. Once your request is approved, you will receive a link to get started.
