They’ll be your first college friends, your biggest hype squad, and the ones cheering you on to get involved, make memories, and live that full-on Wrangler life, on campus and beyond! 🤠✨

Orientation is FREE and MANDATORY for incoming students that have already applied and been accepted to Odessa College.

If you have not yet applied to the college, the application is FREE - Visit the OC Apply Now website for more information on the application process.

*New students will register for only one session, one day and only one time.

Orientation Fee: 

Wrangler Orientation is free and mandatory for all incoming Odessa College students.


What to Bring

Before you complete Wrangler Orientation, make sure you have the following information accessible:

  • Your Odessa College Letter of Acceptance that gives you your 7-digit "Odessa College Student Identification Number" (If you have recently Applied and have not yet received your letter, please use "0123456", if you have not yet applied to Odessa College, please put "0000000").
  • Make sure you have completed the necessary testing for placement. This includes one of the following: TSI, SAT or ACT. You are not required to take all of the above tests, but your scores must meet the minimum scores required by the college before you can register for courses. Additional documentation upon acceptance include:

  1. Proof of Meningitis Vaccine (if younger than 22 years of age)
  2. Official Academic Transcripts (High School or all previously-attended college transcripts)
  3. Test Scores (TSIA, ACT, SAT, STARR or College Bridge Certificate)

FAQ's

Yes! You’re welcome to bring guest(s) with you to orientation.

Yes, we highly recommend staying for the full orientation. Important information about classes, campus resources, and student life will be covered throughout the day — plus, there are fun activities and giveaways you won’t want to miss!

Bring a photo ID, your student ID number, and something to take notes with. If you’ve already submitted documents (like vaccination records or transcripts), double-check your student portal to make sure everything is complete. Comfortable clothes and a positive attitude are also a plus!

Yes! Light snacks will be provided along with lunch will be provided. Let us know ahead of time if you have any dietary restrictions (In the registration).

No worries — academic advisors will be available to help you get registered during orientation.

Yes, orientation is required for all incoming students. It’s the best way to set yourself up for success!

Check-in usually begins 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Arriving early helps you beat the crowd and grab a good seat!

Free parking will be available in front of the Wood Health Sciences Building (MCH Simulation Hospital). Yellow and white parking spots, look for signs or staff to guide you when you arrive.

We’re happy to help! Please contact the orientation team ahead of time so we can make sure everything is set up for you.

It’s not required, but you’re welcome to bring one if you prefer to take notes digitally or need to log into your student account during the day.

Yes — representatives from the Financial Aid office will be available to help you with questions or updates.

Dress comfortably and casually. You’ll be walking around campus, so wear shoes you can walk in and bring a light jacket in case it gets chilly indoors.

Orientation typically lasts a full day (around 4–7 hours). We’ll keep things fun, informative, and interactive throughout!

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available across campus. Login instructions will be provided during orientation.

Yes! You’ll learn about student life, clubs, and how to get involved — some might even be tabling during orientation.
