Theatre Shop Assistant/O.C. Visual and Performing Arts Department

This position is for Work Study Qualified Student Workers

Duties: Assist in the construction of stage scenery, the upkeep of OC Scene Shop and storage locations, and the support of OC special events.

Hours: 6-12 hours weekly, maximum of 19 hours per week. Afternoon hours are preferred, Saturday hours available during peak work weeks.

Location: The Globe Theatre is located on the south side of campus between The Century Commons Student Housing and The Shcool of Culinary Arts.

Requirments: Knowledge of basic hand tools and wood construction methods and/or painting. Will train.

SLR – Job Advertisement – Part-Time Staffer

Job Summary

Your role will be to help and guide Odessa College students and community users who visit the Student Learning Resources (SLR) department facilities with a sincere smile and an enthusiasm for customer service.

As a supportive and interactive resource, you are dedicated to empowering our users to turn mild interest or building ideas into intensely focused innovation, and invite others to imagine, create, grow, build, explore, collaborate, and realize their innovative dreams and ideas.

Additionally, you will deliver support to your fellow SLR employees through dedicated attention to detail, awareness of time demands, and adaptability.

Testing Center/Part-time

Job Description: Exhibits good communication skills and cooperation with all College staff as a participating member of the Student Services team. Direct and supervise the test security and administration off all exams offered at the Testing Center.

Assist in test score interpretations. Take payments for exams and maintain accountability for personal money drawer daily. Possess a clear understanding of all exams provided at the Testing Center and how to administer every exam offered.

Maintain professional memberships and certifications for proctoring according to the test company specifications. Supervise the test security and administration of all proctored exams through video surveillance and visually. Ensure that the Testing Center is operating in accordance to the rules and regulations set forth by the resting companies and professional testing associations.

Student Worker/Dean Suite

Duties: Smile and be productive in your work, academically excel to maintain your employment, report to assigned supervisor at scheduled work times. Type material assigned and make necessary photo copies on copy equipment, fax material from facsmile equipment as assigned, deliver or pick up incoming mail from the post office. Be cordial to students, facualty, staff, and visitors entering the office, answer and screen telephone call in the absence of administrative assistants personnel, transfer telephone calls to appropriate personnel or record appropriate messages, perfrom other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor or other personnel in the Deans suite.

Odessa College Ambassadors

Odessa College Ambassadors help the Student Completion department with Branding Days, Strategies for Success as teaching assistants, general office duties, campus visits/recruitment, and much more. Hours are flexible, and students may work up to 19 hours each week.

Students must have succesfully completed at least one semester of college work, including Strategies for Success.
