TSIA 2.0 Testing at Odessa College

All public institutions of higher learning in Texas require that incoming students document compliance with the Texas Success Initiative through an assessment or a qualifying exemption or waiver. The holistic advising and placement scale is designed to support and accelerate entry into college-ready coursework.

Holistic Advising & Placement Chart | Exemptions & Waivers

On January 11, 2021, Odessa College began to administer the TSIA 2.0 in response to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) updates. Per THECB's college readiness classification scores, the holistic advising matrix below outlines uses the TSIA 2.0 scores combined with the student's prior academic success and history, as well as personal experiences and circumstances. This matrix is designed to supplement current placement practices and accelerate entry into college-ready coursework. TSIA 1.0 scores will remain valid for five (5) years from the test date.
