The 30 for 30 Challenge is designed to help you build a healthy habit by exercising 30 minutes a day for 30 days.
To encourage consistency, the challenge is divided into three 10-day stages:
  • Days 1–10 | Build the Habit
  • Days 11–20 | Build the Momentum
  • Days 21–30 | Build the Lifestyle

Please remember:

  • Log your activity as you complete it whenever possible.
  • Each 10-day stage closes before the next event begins.
  • Once a stage closes, you cannot return to enter missed days from that stage. For example, if the challenge is on Days 11–20, you cannot go back and record activity for Days 1–10.
  • Complete each 10-day stage to remain eligible for that stage’s prize drawing and stay on track for the Grand Prize.
  • Activity may only be recorded once per day.
  • If you complete multiple activities in one day, record your total minutes and select the activity that best represents your workout.
  • Daily activity is limited to 180 minutes (30 minutes are required to receive credit).
  • Once activity has been submitted for a day, it cannot be edited.

  • Participants may choose to record minutes of activity or daily steps.
  • A minimum of 8,000 steps is required to receive credit for the day.
  • Daily steps are limited to 25,000.
  • Participants recording steps must use a device capable of tracking daily steps (Fitbit, smartwatch, phone app, pedometer, etc.).

  • Participation on a team is optional.
  • Teams must have a minimum of 3 participants.
  • Each participant may belong to only one team.
  • Individual activity automatically counts toward your team’s participation score.
  • The Top 10 teams will qualify for the team prize drawing.

  • Supporting a school is optional.
  • If you select a school during registration, your participation automatically counts toward your school’s overall participation score. No additional reporting is required.
  • The Top 10 schools will qualify for the school prize drawing.

The challenge is divided into three consecutive 10-day events:

  • Build the Lifestyle (Days 21–30)

Participants agree to the following:

  • Activity should be logged after it has been completed.
  • Participants are encouraged to log activity daily.
  • Activity may only be recorded once per day using either minutes of activity or daily steps.
  • Once submitted, activity cannot be edited.
  • Each 10-day event closes before the next event begins. Once an event closes, missed days from that event cannot be entered later.
  • Physical activity requires a minimum of 30 minutes per day and is limited to 180 minutes.
  • Daily step activity requires a minimum of 8,000 steps and is limited to 25,000 steps.

Pre-Challenge Prize

Participants who complete the August Pre-Challenge requirements before the posted deadline will be entered into the kickoff prize drawing.

Build the Habit (Days 1–10)

Participants must complete and record qualifying activity before the event closes to be eligible for the first prize drawing.

Build the Momentum (Days 11–20)

Participants must complete and record qualifying activity before the event closes to be eligible for the second prize drawing.

Build the Lifestyle (Days 21–30)

Participants must complete and record qualifying activity before the event closes to be eligible for the final stage prize drawing.

Grand Prize Eligibility

To be eligible for the Grand Prize, participants must:

  • Complete all 30 challenge days by meeting the daily minimum activity requirements.
  • Successfully complete each of the three 10-day events.
  • Record activity during the applicable event window.
  • Activity from a closed event cannot be added later.

Student, team, school, and youth prize eligibility requirements remain unchanged.

The challenge app operates using Central Time. Participants should log activity regularly and avoid waiting until the final hours of an event, as periods of heavy traffic may result in delays.

Participants will receive reminder and updates via push notification and email. Current challenge information will also be available on the challenge website.

The 30 for 30 Challenge is designed to help participants build a healthy habit—not simply complete 30 days of exercise.

Dividing the challenge into three 10-day stages encourages participants to stay engaged, log activity in real time, celebrate milestones along the way, and build consistency that lasts beyond the challenge.
