Office Administration

Students who enter the Office Administration program will have the opportunity to choose from three professional paths: Bookkeeping, General Office Administration, and Medical Health Office Administration. Students will learn how to update and maintain database systems, demonstrate customer service skills, complete basic accounting tasks, and to use various office software necessary for the successful administration of office duties. Completion of this program will allow students to apply for entry-level positions as administrative assistants, office assistant, office manager, office clerk, and bookkeeping clerk. ONet Online lists these administrative occupations as ‘Bright Outlook’ occupations and employment positions for these occupations are expected to grow rapidly in the next several years. Office and administrative support, bookkeepers, executive secretaries, administrative assistants, and medical secretaries are listed on the Texas Workforce Commission’s targeted occupations list for the Permian Basin Region.
