Odessa College is proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in the TECS Elite Program, an advanced training pathway powered by Toyota. This hands-on, industry-driven program is designed to prepare students for a successful career as a Toyota or Lexus certified technician—equipped with the skills, certifications, and experience needed to enter the workforce with confidence.
Through TECS Elite, students train on the latest Toyota and Lexus vehicles and technologies, earning industry-recognized certifications while learning from experienced instructors in a real-world automotive setting.

Graduates of the TECS Elite program are prepared for immediate employment as:

With ongoing training and certification, TECS Elite technicians have the potential to advance into Master Technician roles and beyond.
The program is aprox. 2 years.
We will begin offering this program during the Fall 2 2025 semester.
It is offered on our Odessa College Sewell Auto Tech campus in Odessa.
There is no additional cost for TECS Elite students beyond the standard Automotive Technology program tuition and fees.
If you currently work at a dealership or auto shop, your employer may be willing to sponsor you. You may also want to apply for Federal Financial Aid using the FAFSA as well as instituional scholarships for which you might be eligible for, including Wrangler Promise.
The Toyota/Lexus dealership and OC partner together to see if you are a good fit for the program and for their business. A job interview will take place at the dealership. If the interview is a success, you will be recommended for sponsorship to enroll with us by the dealership. We will work out a schedule so that you can work and go to school at the same time. We are flexible to helping you make the most of your education and work life!
The purchase of tools is not required, however, several companies offer discounts on tools for automotive technology students. Students may want to take advantage of these discounts before graduating. See your Program Director for more information about what they would recommend.
