Biography:An Odessa native, Anthony Buenning graduated from Odessa High School in 2000. As a
long-time lover of reading and writing, it was natural for him to gravitate toward
English as a major while attending the University of Texas of the Permian Basin for
both his bachelor and master of arts. After earning his MA in English in 2009, Anthony
then moved to the DFW area and worked as an adjunct for multiple community colleges,
including Mountain View College and Collin College. He was then accepted into the
PhD program at the University of North Texas (UNT) in 2013. In 2017, he accepted a
full-time faculty position at Odessa College, and he graduated from UNT with a doctorate
in English in 2023, dissertation titled "Shakespeare and Early Modern Trauma."
