Welcome to Odessa College in Pecos!

Our Pecos campus is the largest extension site, offering both credit and non-credit courses.  Pecos also offers many of the student services you'd find on the main campus such as Financial Aid, Admissions, Testing, and Tutoring, saving our students a trip to Odessa for requirements like testing or support services like tutoring.

Health Careers Programs in Pecos

The OC Pecos campus also offers several Health Career options for those interested in the medical field.  These are high-demand healthcare professions that often lead to a job in less than a year. 

 

Certified Nursing Aide

Certified Nursing Aide help in the care of the ill or injured by providing basic nursing skills and personal care. The CNA program is 112 total hours, including 72 hours in the classroom and 40 hours in clinical. This program is available during the day and in the evening. Program cost is $569.  Scholarships Available.

Admission Requirements:

  • Drivers license or Identification card
  • Social Security card (name must match ID)
  • Reading requirements 70% or better
  • Students must be at least 16 years of age and turn 17 by clinical
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Provide an updated Immunization record

Medical Office Skills

The Medical Office Skills program provides students with the skills necessary to enter the high-demand clerical healthcare profession. Students will learn about medical terminology, medical office procedures, medical coding and billing, as well as HIPAA and CPR.The program is 128 hours. Program cost is $745.  Payment Plan and Scholarships Available.

Phlebotomy Technician

Phlebotomists draw blood samples by venipuncture, skin puncture or arterial collection for medical tests and blood donations. This program is a total of 210 hours, with 90 hours in the classroom and 120 hours of clinical. This program is available during the day and in the evening. Program cost is $697.  Payment Plan and Scholarships Available.

Admission Requirements:

  • Drivers license or Identification card
  • Social Security card (name must match ID)
  • Reading requirements 70% or better
  • Copy of High School Diploma/ GED or College Transcript
  • Proof of personal health insurance
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Provide an updated Immunization record

  • Two (2) weeks before class ends students must pass a basic drug test to be able to do clinical

GED Classes

Odessa College also offers free GED classes in Pecos.  If you've been thinking of taking the GED exam, we can get you ready.  Class dates and times vary so please give us a call at 432.445.5535 to get the most up to date information for GED classes in Pecos.  


Student Services in Pecos:

Admissions, Financial Aid, Compass Placement testing, Academic Advisement & Registration are all offered at the Pecos Center.

Testing:

Compass test available every Wednesday at 8:30 am.

Orientations:

Freshman & Parent College Orientations are offered approximately three times per semester.Technology Orientations are offered three times per semester on Blackboard, Student E-mail, Web-Advisor, LRC Happenings & the portal.

Tutoring Services:

Math Tutoring Services Available by appointment on Tues, Wed, and Thurs between 6-10pm during the Fall & Spring semesters only.
