Odessa College invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to take part in the Scholar Walk, a unique event designed to celebrate Constitution Day 2025 by combining education, exercise, and community connection.
The Scholar Walk will be held on Wednesday, September 17, offering two opportunities to participate:
-
7:30 a.m. – Meet in the SCC Lobby
-
5:30 p.m. – Meet on the 2nd floor of the Sports Center
During the walk, participants will enjoy 30 minutes of light exercise around campus while listening to curated podcasts focused on the United States Constitution, its history, and its modern-day significance.
“This event brings learning outside the classroom in an engaging way,” said Vice President for Instruction, Tramaine Anderson-Silvas. “It’s a chance for our community to reflect on the Constitution together while staying active and connected.”
Walkers are encouraged to bring their own headphones and a cellphone to access the podcast content. Light refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of each walk.
The Scholar Walk is part of Odessa College’s 30 For 30 fitness challenge, giving participants the opportunity to log their involvement in the 30 For 30 app.
Constitution Day, observed nationwide each year on September 17, commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. Odessa College’s Scholar Walk highlights the importance of this historic document while engaging participants in a creative and healthy way.
