Odessa, Texas — Odessa College has announced an extension of the application deadline for its Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program. Originally set to close on March 31, 2026, the new deadline for prospective students to apply is now May 8, 2026.
The decision to extend the deadline reflects the department’s commitment to providing greater access and opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy. The extension allows additional time for applicants to complete requirements and submit a strong application.
“The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Odessa College is dedicated to preparing highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals,” said Alexis Kauten-Crews, PT, DPT, Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. “By extending the application deadline, we hope to give more students the opportunity to take the next step toward a rewarding career in physical therapy and to ensure we reach those who may need just a little more time to apply.”
The PTA Program at Odessa College offers students hands-on training, experienced faculty, and real-world clinical experiences designed to prepare graduates for success in a growing healthcare field. Physical therapist assistants play a vital role in helping patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage pain under the direction of licensed physical therapists.
Prospective students are encouraged to take advantage of the extended deadline and apply by May 8, 2026. For more information about program requirements, application procedures, and career opportunities, visit the Odessa College website or contact the program directly at PTA@odessa.edu.
