ODESSA, Texas — Odessa College will join communities across the nation in celebrating the 250th anniversary of America's Independence by observing the Independence Day holiday from Thursday, July 2, through Sunday, July 5.

Odessa College, the Odessa College Children’s Center, and the college's extension centers in Andrews, Pecos, Monahans, and Seminole will be closed during the holiday. College offices and facilities at these locations will resume normal business operations at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6.

The Odessa College Sports Center will observe a modified holiday schedule. On Thursday, July 2, the Sports Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday, July 3, the facility will operate from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Sports Center will be closed on Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and will resume its regular operating hours on Sunday, July 5.

As Americans commemorate this historic milestone, Odessa College encourages everyone to take time to reflect on the nation's rich history, honor those who have served to preserve our freedoms, and celebrate safely with family and friends.
