ODESSA, TX — The stage is set, the music is loud, and the story is timeless. Odessa College Theatre invites the community to experience A Soldier’s Tale (2026), a thrilling new interpretation of the classic work by Igor Stravinsky, conceived and directed by Aaron Ganz. With only two public performances, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 at 6 p.m. in The Globe Theatre, this limited-run production promises to be one of the most inventive theatrical events of the season.

Far from a traditional retelling, A Soldier’s Tale transforms Stravinsky’s legendary parable into a pulse-pounding rock concert spectacle. The story follows a soldier who trades his soul to the devil, only to discover the true cost of what he has given away and the difficult road back to himself. It is a tale of temptation, consequence, and redemption, delivered through electrifying live performance.

This Odessa College production blends dynamic musicianship, video artistry, movement, and bold stagecraft into an immersive theatrical concert experience. Every element works together to create something fresh, modern, and unexpected while still honoring the heart of the original story.

Early audiences who attended preview night were quick to praise the show’s creativity and energy. Attendees described the musicians as “great and incredibly talented,” applauded the masterful song choices, and called the production a modern, imaginative interpretation of a well-known classic. The response makes one thing clear: this is not a performance to miss.

Whether you’re a longtime theatre lover, a live music fan, or simply looking for an unforgettable night out, A Soldier’s Tale offers something unique, a high-energy collision of story and sound brought to life by Odessa College’s talented Globe company.

This event is underwritten by Odessa Arts and the Texas Commission on the Arts, whose support helps make bold and innovative live performance accessible to the community.
