Applications Open October 1–31, 2025 | Classes Begin Spring 2026
Odessa, TX — Odessa College is expanding opportunities for aspiring health care professionals with the launch of a new Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program, designed for students who want to pursue a career in nursing while balancing work and family responsibilities.
Applications for the program will open October 1 and remain open through October 31, 2025, with classes beginning in Spring 2026.
“We know not everyone has the ability to go to school full time and leave the workforce,” said Kisha Rasband, Director of Vocational Nursing at Odessa College. “This part-time program allows those individuals who have demands on their lives that have kept them out of the health care field an entry point to get into nursing.”
The 18-month part-time program offers the same high-quality instruction and clinical experience as Odessa College’s full-time option, but with a schedule designed to support students who must maintain other commitments. Classes will be held in the college’s state-of-the-art Wood Health and Sciences Building.
Unlike many nursing programs, the part-time LVN track has no prerequisite coursework requirements. Applicants are only required to take the TEAS test, earning a minimum score of 60 in Math and Reading to qualify.
Graduates of the program will be prepared to enter the nursing workforce with the skills needed to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.
