ODESSA, TX — Odessa College will welcome teams, fans, and families to campus this spring as host of two NJCAA Division 1 district championship tournaments: the 2025 NJCAA Southwest District A Softball Championship and the first round of the Region V NJCAA Division I Baseball Tournament May 7-10, 2025. These events will bring more than 150 student-athletes and support personnel to Odessa, with an estimated 325 fans expected to attend.

“These tournaments do more than highlight collegiate athletic talent—they drive economic activity in Odessa,” said Wayne Baker, Odessa College Athletic Director. “From hotel stays to local restaurants and shopping, the presence of these teams and their supporters provides a measurable boost to our local economy.” The combined tournaments are expected to generate approximately 300 hotel room nights, directly contributing to the city's hotel occupancy tax revenue and supporting local hospitality businesses.

College-hosted athletic events like these would not be possible without Odessa College’s state-of-the-art facilities, which continue to attract regional and national attention. The investment in these spaces not only supports student-athlete development but positions Odessa as a destination for high-caliber competition.

The college encourages the community to come out, enjoy the games, and show their Wrangler pride. Schedules, ticket details, and more can be found at www.wranglersports.com.
