Elizabeth N. Koonce's legacy will live on in Odessa through her generous bequest to nonprofit organizations. Each organization received 20% residue of Koonce's estate.
The bequests to Odessa College and to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin will be placed in the permanent scholarship funds of each school that will be used for academic scholarships.
The Odessa College Foundation has big plans for the $2 million dollars Mrs. Koonce left for student scholarships!
