The Odessa College NIRA Wrangler Rodeo will celebrate its 40th anniversary at the Ector County Coliseum this Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 22-24. The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. each evening.

During the Saturday evening performance, Odessa College rodeo team alumnae and former coaches will be celebrated. The Odessa College Rodeo Program continues to build legends in rodeo with alumni such as Ty Murray, Jim Sharp, Adam and Gilbert Carrillo, Jerome Davis, Cimarron Gerke, Dustin Bowen, Ky Hamilton, Tristen Hutchings, and Kolton Hevalow. 

For the 40th anniversary rodeo, competitors from 18 colleges and universities across Texas and New Mexico will take to the arena each night to challenge each other and themselves in events such as bareback, saddle bronc, barrel racing, goat tying, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding and more. 

The public is invited to come out and enjoy the rodeo and support these college student-athletes. Tickets can be purchased online at https://boxofficesolutions.net/index.html or at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and ticket prices are $8 for individuals and ADA-Accessible, $3 for children.
