Odessa College Golf Coach Paul Chavez, who will be inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in December, introduced two OC golf team members who signed letters to play for UTPB and McNeese State University.
Austin Anderson (in UTPB shirt) signed with the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Austin will complete his associate degree in business administration at OC in May 2018 and transfer to UTPB to join the Falcons golf team in the fall of 2018. Austin hopes to make his mark in the history of the Falcons team by helping them win a regional championship. The new team is in its second year as a competitive sport at the university.
Parker Beaty (in McNeese State Univ. shirt and cap) signed with McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and will transfer in January to the university to continue his college career. Parker said that changing to the McNeese school colors of blue and gold and representing the McNeese Cowboys will not be a difficult change from the Odessa College school colors of blue and white and playing for the OC Wranglers.
Both young men were on the Odessa College 2017 NJCAA National Championship Team.
