Odessa College celebrated the kickoff of the Odessa College Downtown Project at a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase I of the project on Tuesday, June 28. The two-phase project is located at the corner of Fourth and Jackson streets. Phase one includes a large green space, a covered stage, two performance canopies, an entryway, a splash pad, restrooms and parking for food vendors. Phase I construction could begin in the next few weeks and completion of the project is expected in spring of 2023. Phase II includes a 24,000-square-foot academic building with classrooms and conference rooms for students and entrepreneurs to learn and work.
