Title V is a Hispanic Serving Institute program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This federally funded program enables Hispanic Serving Institutes like Odessa College to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality and institutional stability.
Online Readiness Assessment – SmarterMeasure™ Learning Readiness Indicator (Blackboard building block) ) is available as a tool inside Blackboard, and is currently being used as a diagnostic tool to identify students who are at-risk of not doing well in technology-based courses.
Faculty Development – During the summer of 2013, 30 faculty participated in online course development training. This training included a testing building block which helped faculty disaggregate test items in more detail.
Course Pilot & Evaluation — EMSP courses completed in year 3 are currently being surveyed for student satisfaction of online or distance delivery. More than 5 Nursing courses were developed for online and hybrid delivery and are currently being piloted and redesigned in year 4.
Andrews Business & Technology Center — new classroom sites were added on to the center and SIM Equipment has been purchased and set up for use by EMSP and Nursing courses for transition from LVN to RN.
