Mission Statement
The Student Support
Services Program at Odessa College has one primary goal, the academic
success of all participants. The program facilitates participant success
via one simple method, proactive and intensive individualized services.
This method looks at the needs of the "whole student". Although our main
emphasis is on academics, we also encourage students to attain the
skills required to become a productive and successful member of society.
We identify student's strengths and weaknesses so that strengths can be
emphasized and weaknesses eliminated. We also believe it is important to
build a sense of community between the students, campus, SSS program and
the citizens of Odessa. A participant's academic success is the personal
responsibility of the participant. However, SSS can be a strong and
active partner in achieving academic success.
Participant Criteria
All participants in the
Odessa College Student Support Services Program must be currently
