The Odessa College Student Learning Center was founded in 2000 by Dr. Sue Blair and Dr. Ralph Ford under the guidance of OC President, Dr. Vance Gipson. Claudia Philpott was appointed the first director of the Center in 2000. The Center quickly became a valuable academic support service for Odessa College students by providing study skills training, tutoring, and writing assistance.

In 2004, Angela Tombs was appointed the second director of the Center. The Center has expanded services to include online tutoring and other academic support services for online students as well as traditional ones.
