Licensing
and Credentialing:
What
credentials can I earn as a Respiratory Therapist?
The National
Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) offers standardized tests
that may be taken upon completion of a two-year accredited
program. Two credentials that may be earned are the certified
respiratory therapist (CRT) and registered respiratory therapist
(RRT). Upon graduation, you may take the entry level CRT exam.
After successfully passing this exam, you could then take
the two part advanced practitioner exam to receive the RRT
credential. For more information on credentialing in the field
of respiratory care visit the NBRC website at www.nbrc.org.
