25, 2003 Minutes
The
Organization of Professional Staff kicked off the
Fall semester with a morning program at the Sports
Center Thursday September 25, 2003. Despite the rain,
about 22 people attended (does jumping over puddles
count as aerobic exercise?).
There
was no business conducted since the meeting was devoted
to an excellent program by Betty Fredrickson and
Karin Carlson.
Betty
Fredrickson and Karin Carlson explained the themes
of the Sports Center programs - Education for Life
and Fitness for Life. The facilities and services
at the Sports Center are available for no charge
for faculty and staff. There are some requirements,
such as a Medical Release Form and a Super Circuit
orientation, and some guidelines for attire. Betty
and Karin encouraged us to not be intimidated by
the Sports Center, to ask questions and get help
from the staff in achieving our fitness goals. During
the tour that followed, many of us visited parts
of the Sports Center that we had never seen before.
The hours for the Sports Center are Monday - Thursday
6:30 AM to 8 PM, and Fridays 6:30 AM to 1 PM.
