Barbara Matelski MSN, RN, FNP-BC

I am a graduate of Texas A&M international University; where I obtained my BSN. I began my career in the NICU; my first love. After marrying my beloved Todd; I chose to further my education and obtained my MSN. While I attended graduate school, I also served as adjunct faculty at Texas A&M International University in the BSN program; ultimately finding teaching rewarding. Upon completion of my graduate program, I sat for state boards and received certification to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
We welcomed the move to West Texas finding the area to overflow with friendly and gracious people.

The field of nursing has been my life-long calling and passion; it is from this motivation that I serve my patients. Currently, I serve in the community as a family nurse practitioner in a busy cardiology practice where I find great joy and satisfaction.

As an instructor at Odessa College, I am provided the opportunity to instill in my students the skills needed and a love for nursing. The success of my students is of utmost importance to me.
In my role as a nursing instructor, I strive to provide my students with an engaging classroom that will equip them to serve in their future nursing role.

I maintain high professional standards for myself as a family nurse practitioner and as a nursing instructor. I encourage my students to create professional goals and I provide tools for them to be successful as students and professionals.
