Welcome to Orientation! You can access your web-class on August 25, 2008, by going to the main OC website at www.odessa.edu and clicking on Blackboard in the upper right portion of the screen. Your username should be your first initial, middle initial, and last name. Your password is ‘oc’ plus the last four digits of your social security number. If you cannot access your class, please call Angela Tombs at 432-335-6673 to check your username/password information.
If you need help learning to use Blackboard and student email, please visit the Student Learning Center, located on the 3rd floor of the LRC (Library):
IF you live too far from the OC Campus to come to the Center, we will be happy to train you over the phone by appointment. Please email Angela Tombs, Director of the Student Learning Center, at atombs@odessa.edu or call 432-335-6714 to set up that appointment. Angela will phone you on the day of your appointment so that you can avoid long distance charges.
You may seek one on one assistance with a student assistant at the Student Learning Center, LRC Room #300A. You may walk in and someone will assist you during business hours – 8am to 930pm Mon – Thur; 8am to 1pm on Friday, and 2pm to 5pm on Sunday.
Orientation is an eight week, self paced course, which must be completed by 10/17/2008. There will be no exceptions made to this deadline.
NOTICE TO STUDENTS: It is the responsibility of the student to maintain a copy of all assignments submitted for grading in the Orientation course. Also, students must make a copy of their gradebook in order to maintain verification of completed tests and quizes in the Blackboard course. Should the student wish to contest his/her grade, this verification will be required from the student. This course must be completed by the student no later than 10/17/08. There will be no exceptions to this deadline so please do not ask. A grade of "F" shall be assessed for any student who fails to complete the course by 10/17/08. It is the student's responsibility to seek assistance with this course as needed in order to be successful. If a student experiences problems and does not seek assistance, the instructor and Odessa College are not responsible for the student's refusal to seek help.
