Department of Mathematics
and Engineering

The math department offers a wide range of courses, from basic arithmetic to differential equations and linear algebra. An attempt is made to offer courses that will be convenient for working part-time students as well as traditional full-time students. Engineering courses offered are statics, dynamics and engineering drawing with emphasis on using computer aided drafting systems.

Approximately 2000 students register for credit courses each semester. This number includes students taking courses to remove deficiencies in mathematics, students earning credits for associates degrees, and students earning transfer credits toward bachelor degrees at four year colleges or universities.

In addition to classes conducted on the main campus, we offer classes at an extension center in Pecos, Concurrent/Dual enrollment classes through high schools in the service area where students earn college and high schools credits.
