Lending Policy

Library Card

The Odessa College student ID card serves as a library card and is required to check out books and use reserve materials. ID cards must be validated for the current semester. Cards and validation stickers are obtained in the Odessa College Business Office.

Concurrent Enrollment Students - Students must obtain their photo I.D card from the Business Office which is open 8:00 am to 5:30 pm; Monday-Thursday and 7:30 am to 1:00 pm Friday. Concurrent students must have the appropriate I.D. card with the current semester sticker to check out materials from the Circulation Desk. Students are limited to two books at a time for a two week period,

Reserves

Reserve materials are located at the Circulation Desk for student use in the LRC building ONLY. A current Odessa College ID card MUST be left at the Circulation Desk while reserves are in use. A listing of all reserves can be searched on the Online Public Access Catalog.

Borrowing Privileges

booksBooks may be checked out for two weeks. Ten books total is the checkout limit. Students may place a hold on a book that is already checked out and LRC staff will notify students when the book is available. Concurrent students are limited to two books at a time.

Reference books are shelved along the perimeter walls of the first floor. They do NOT circulate.

Current periodicals are located on the first floor. Back issues are located on the second floor. Periodicals do NOT circulate.

Book Returns

Books should be returned in the bookdrop located at the Circulation Desk. After hours, books may be returned in the outside bookdrop located north of the LRC entrance.

Overdues

The Registrar is notified of all delinquencies and transcripts are withheld until books are returned. All overdue, lost, or damaged materials must be returned or paid for in order to clear student records. Students who fail to clear LRC delinquencies will not be allowed to register for subsequent semesters or graduate.
