The Murry H. Fly Learning Resources Center (LRC) supports the college's curriculum resulting in a primary emphasis on each student's individual study and research needs. The faculty and staff work with the LRC's Technical Services and Public Services Departments in choosing materials to support all college programs. More than 73,500 books, 395 current periodicals, eight daily, weekly and national newspapers, and 5,300 media holdings are available to enhance the educational process.Murry H. Fly Library was named for Dr. Murry H. Fly, who was instrumental in the founding of the college and served as the first president of Odessa College. The present building was built in 1962 with a 3-story addition completed in 1975, which gave the building a total of 35,756 square feet. The addition houses the library, learning center, and media center as well as offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms. To reflect these additions, the name was changed to Murry H. Fly Learning Resources Center. The Learning Resources Center is presently housed on the first two floors of the building. (Map)The LRC seeks to provide the finest informational services possible. Suggestions and comments to improve all areas of the LRC are continually and seriously invited.
