(Application Checklist)

 

***You MUST take the reading and writing portion of the COMPASS Test (and pass) prior to registering.***

                Contact the Odessa College Testing Center at 432-335-6429 for specific times and dates.

 

____      1.        Complete and submit the Odessa College Admissions Application. A current color photo must be sent to complete the application process. Mail to Odessa College Law Enforcement Academy - 201 W. University - Odessa, TX  79764.

 

____      2.        Visit the Odessa College Financial Aid site as soon as possible, paperwork may take time to be finalized. (e.g., Veteran's Benefits, Hazlewood, FACTS short term loan program, or FASFA application)

 

 

____    3.        Turn in completed Academy application with COPIES of the items below:

____    a.  current color photo

____    b.  official transcript(s) from all other colleges or universities attended

____    c.  birth certificate

____    d.  driver's license

____    e.  high school diploma or GED (GED applicants must have 12 college hours)

____    f.  ALL military DD-214s {TCLEOSE Rules, Sec. 211.80 (a)(15)--not have been discharged from any military service under less than honorable conditions including,      specifically: (A) under other than honorable conditions; (B) bad conduct; (C) dishonorable; or (D) any other characterization of service indicating bad character.}

 

 

____    5.        Fingerprint card ($15.00 processing fee paid to Texas Department of Public Safety)

Fingerprinting needs to be submitted as soon as possible to avoid additional charges( This is for a criminal history check - do not fold the fingerprint card.)  Instructions are given on the attached pages. Fingerprinting services are available on the Odessa College Campus in room ET 202 (2nd floor of the Electronics Technology building) For more information and to schedule an appointment call 1-888-467-2080. You may use this service or have fingerprinting done at a site of your choosing.

 

 

____    6.        Academy dress code:

____    a.  2 pair khaki "BDU" Range - Call 1-800-282-3327 (Mike) Specify for O C Police Academy.

____    b.  1 plain black belt

____    c.  1 pair black, plain toe shoes or boots

____    d.  1 pair tennis shoes

____    e.  1 sweat suit and shorts (navy blue or black)

____    f.  hair cut and no facial hair (properly trimmed mustaches are acceptable)

____    g.  jewelry: (male or female) 2 rings & watch

 

 

____    7.        First class meeting you:

____    a.  must have student I. D. - obtained at registration

____    b.  must have student parking permit - obtained at registration

____    c.  will sign a medical release

____    d.  will sign a waiver of liability
