Exchange E-Mail Set-Up Instructions for Outlook 2003 and XP
From the Start menu go to the Control Panel (Windows 98 graphics will be slightly different.)
Choose User Accounts. (Switch to the "Classic View" if Neccessary.)
Double click the Mail Icon.
Click "Show Profiles" in the Mail Setup window.
Click the Add button to create a new profile. Name the
profile Exchange then click OK.
After creating the profile the Email Accounts dialog box will appear. Under
the E-mail heading choose "Add a new e-mail account" and then click Next.
Server type will appear, choose "Microsoft Exchange Server" and click Next.
Now we will set the Exchange Server Settings. In the box
beside "Microsoft Exchange Server:" type the following server name: outlook.odessa.edu Make sure the "Use Cached Exchange Mode" box is checked.
Type in your User Name in space provided. This is the same username
that you use to log into your office computer when you first turn it on. Click the Check Name button to the right of the username box.
If a line appears under your User Name then the
entries are correct. If you get the message “The action could not be completed
the name could not be matched to a name in the address list” double-check
your username and the exchange server name and try again. If the problem persists
you will need to put in a service request here.
you see a line appear under your username as seen below then you have successfullyadded the account. Click Next.
Choose the option to "Always use this profile" and select the Exchange profile you have just created. Click OK and you are finished.
