Linda says that her most valuable asset to
Odessa College as the Director of
Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Foundation is her roots.
"I always felt that I received the best
education and had the most fun at OC when I first started college. I never forgot those days and now as I walk
across the campus, many special moments are replayed. I have no problem
advancing this college or asking people to contribute their time and financial
support to the furtherance of this institution. As one of my most recent
donors said, 'Linda, you make me proud... you are a product of OC and ECISD'." Dr. Linda Gail Ward joined the Odessa College
administration team on
June 15, 1998 as Director of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director
of the OC Foundation. Linda
began
her
higher education pursuit at OC.
During 1968-70, she was the La Senorita de las Roses drill team Captain, the
OC representative in El Paso as the Sun Bowl Princess, and served as the Freshman
and Sophomore Class Vice-President. Linda has a long-term investment and
a
tremendous love for Odessa College.
Although Linda is a native Odessan, she has had the opportunity to travel
extensively through 17 countries as an Educational Consultant. After
leaving OC, she finished her B.A. and M.A. in Speech/English at Texas
State University in San Marcos and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration/Counseling
at the
University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She loves teaching college
students and has an extensive teaching and training career: Churchill High School
in
San Antonio, San Antonio College, Howard Payne University in Brownwood, UTPB
in
Odessa, and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. |
