INSTITUTIONAL
PROCEDURES FOR GRANTS/CONTRACTS
The
Grants Office is the official clearinghouse
for every grant proposal, competitive or non-competitive,
submitted by Odessa College. While it is not
necessary for the Director of Grants Development
to be involved in the preparation of every grant,
the approval process provides a tracking system
to identify funders who are approached, types
of grants that are being applied for, the amount
of grant funding applied for, and the amount
of grant funding received by the college. Tracking
prevents over-solicitation of certain funders.
It also prevents competition among departments
when there is duplication of proposals submitted
to the same funding source - a clear sign of
a lack of communication on campus.
Steps
in the grant application process:
-
Determine department needs.
-
Identify possible funding sources. This can
be done on your own or you can request help
from the Grants Office.
-
Obtain required signatures on the pre-proposal
approval form and turn form in to
Grants Office.
-
Turn in one copy of the completed proposal
to the Grants Office at same time of submission
to funder.
-
Turn in copy of award/rejection letter to
Grants Office.
-
Provide copy of required interim reports to
Grants Office.
-
Provide copy of final report to Grants Office.
Approval
to submit an application must be attained before
any grant is submitted. The Approval Form (click
here) can be filled out online. Please obtain
all required signatures and send to Grants Office.
If
you have questions or need assistance, please
do not hesitate to call the Director of Grants
Development at 335-6829!!
