Student Employment
Students may work on campus part time to earn extra money. Students earn minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. Paychecks are issued the 25th of each month and earnings are taxable.

Student Employment Definitions
Federal College Work/Study
Student earnings are paid through federal financial aid funds. Students must complete a FAFSA indicating an interest in Work Study and have current FAFSA results showing financial need. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and meet satisfactory academic progress standards. Funds are limited are awarded on a first come, first serve basis with priority given to students who have no other aid aside from Pell.
Texas College Work/Study
Student earnings are paid through state financial aid funds. Students must complete a FAFSA and have current FAFSA results showing financial need. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and meet satisfactory academic progress standards. Funds are limited and awarded on a first come, first serve basis to students who have secured a promise of employment. Athletes receiving scholarship funds are not eligible for Texas Work Study.
Non-Work/Study
Employment is not tied to financial aid eligibility. Students are paid through the budget of the employing department. Students must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours and have a 2.0 GPA. For more information about Non-Work/Study employment, contact OC Human Resources at 335-6606.
