YOUR FINAL
THIS WEEK!!!!!!!! 4/28 - 5/2
SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW
April 21 YOUR FINAL
EXAM
is NEXT WEEK!
It starts on Mon. April 28th.
The final
exam will be comprehensive and will be matching, and fill in the blank. The exam
will be given on paper (not the Internet.)
All you will need is a #2 pencil
and a picture ID (OC ID card or driver's license.)
The final exam will be given at Odessa College on
Monday
April 28th, Tuesday April 29th, Wednesday April 30th, Thursday May 1st, and
Friday May 2nd in the Testing Center.
These are the only dates you may take the exam (NO
EXCEPTIONS.)
Please note
that the final exam is scheduled the week BEFORE
your other final exams. The
Testing Center is located in room 203 in the Student Union Building (SUB)
432/335-6620. They are open Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am
- 1:00pm. Keep in mind that you will be
allowed 1 1/2 hours to take your final exam and will not be allowed to take a
test if less than 1 1/2 hours remain before the testing center closes. That is,
you will not be allowed to take the test if you arrive at or after 2:30 M-Th or
11:30 on Friday.
Additionally,
The Pecos Technical Center will no longer administer exams for web students, so
if you were thinking of taking your final exam there, you will need to find
another proctor.

Hello everyone. Here's a couple of reminders: (1) Test 6 is now
open.
(2) Now is a good time to start studying for your final. Click on the
'final exam words' on the word list page. This list is different from the
tests list.
Remember
the final exam is to be taken between 4/28 and 5/2. ONE WEEK BEFORE regularly
scheduled finals.
(this makes up for missing the spring break week -- you get finished a week
earlier.) Hang in there! You're almost through!
Feb 16
Just a few reminders: (1) I'm happy to look at your tests if you have questions
about the grading, just let me know which question numbers you'd like for
me to re-grade, (2) please put your name on your emails to me, and (3) the tests
open the Sunday before they are due. Test 3 opens this Sunday, 2/17/08.
I
hope that you have a warm weekend!

I hope that you watched some great commercials yesterday, though I didn't think
that there were many good ones, and maybe enjoyed the game too.
Double
check to make sure that all of your grades are posted. Below are some

I have entered all of your grades into your Blackboard Gradebook (under the
"Tools" button.) If you have turned in your first two assignments
check to make sure that I have entered your grades. If I've missed
something, let me know and I'll go back to your email file and look for the
assignment that you sent.
Also, I advise you to look over your test. If something doesn't
seem to be graded correctly, email me with the question numbers and I'll
re-grade those answers for you.
If you went over the test time limit by more than 2 minutes you didn't get a
grade. You have 60 minutes to take the test. I give you a 2 minute
grace period. Anything beyond that, doesn't receive a test grade, so be
careful.
Jan 24
You are invited for
HOTDOGS, POPCORN and DRINKS! All OC Web students are welcome to come for
food, and FREE ADMISSION to the Basketball Games (Women's at 5:30, Men's at
7:30) on Monday, January 28, 2008. I'll be there at 5:00
to meet you face to face if you'd like to join us at the OC Sports Center.
Free food, Free basketball games and meet your web instructors. Load up
the family and enjoy some food and fun. Hope to see you there!

Sorry! The test didn't open on Sunday like it should have. The
problem is fixed and it is now open. You have until Sun. 1/27 at midnight
to complete the test. Remember that once you open the test you must take it, you
cannot re-enter the test a second time. Also do NOT save each question --
that will only waste your time. When you are finished with the test and
hit the "submit" button, the test is saved. Good luck!
Jan 18
Several of you are trying to take the test. I'm glad that you've been
studying and are ready for the 1st test but the test are only open for one
week (see syllabus) so they don't open until the Sunday before they are due.
Keep reviewing and you can take the test Sunday afternoon. : )
Jan 16
I have been uploading new registrants into Blackboard (BB) every day. So
if you're not in BB please let me know. Also, just a reminder to always
put your name on your emails and you should be using your oc student email for
this class (refer to the syllabus). If you're having some difficulty with
that scroll down to "Jan. 7th."
Jan 9th
My office hours have changed slightly so if you've already memorized them (tee
hee) re-visit the syllabus and view the new and improved hours.
Jan. 8th
Unless you have just enrolled, you are loaded into Blackboard. If you've
turned in assignments, check your grades in Blackboard.
Jan. 7th Welcome to Medical Terminology. This is the
page that I will use to communicate with you as a class. You should,
therefore, plan to
VISIT THIS PAGE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.
Should we encounter any problems or if I need to CHANGE a due date, add
an assignment or something like that this is where I will communicate that
information to you.
The college requires you to use your OC student email address
for online classes. If you have difficulty getting your address to work
properly the person to contact is Angela Tombs at 335-6714 or Patrick Cannady at
335-6615.
I do not check emails Friday-Sunday. If, however, you
have some type of problem getting a test completed or something, you should email me
about the problem immediately, weekend or not.
You are not yet loaded into Blackboard,
the program you'll use
to take your tests. I'll notify you on
this FYI page once you can start using the Blackboard program for this class.
Again, welcome to class
Ms. Hand
