I
am interested in majoring in a particular field at Odessa College.
Where can I find information about my major?
From the OC homepage, click on Departments Directory. Find your
major from the alphabetical listing. We are continually adding to
and upgrading our website so if the information that you want is
not available, request an Odessa College catalog or call 432/335-6400
and speak to the department directly.

What
is the application deadline?
We do not have a set deadline for the application for admission.
If you need financial aid, apply about 3 months before the semester
in which you plan to start. This insures that your award will be
ready when you start. You will need to complete the application
for admission and request the needed transcripts before Student
Financial Services can make the award.

I have applied for Financial Aid, turned
in the Admissions Application and requested the necessary transcripts
to be sent to Odessa College, now what?
Take the TASP or Compass test, if required, at least 3 weeks before
you plan to register. To talk to a counselor and register early,
sign up for OC Experience by calling Student Activities at 432/335-6403. OC Experience dates are usually not set and published
until a couple of months before regular registration. OC Experience
is for new students only.
If you can't attend an OC Experience, you can schedule an appointment
with a counselor as soon as you get your test scores. After being
advised, come back on one of the registration dates listed in the
front of the catalog or schedule. After registration, take your
class schedule to the bookstore and buy your books.

How
much can I expect to pay for tuition?
Cost
depends on your residency and the classes that you take. Look in
the catalog or schedule under Financial Information. The tuition
and fees are listed by semester hour. The second digit of the course
number of any class that you plan to take tells you how many semester
hours the class is worth. For example, if you take English 1301,
the 3 in the course number tells you that the class is worth three
semester hours. Add up the second digits of all the course numbers
of the classes that you plan to take and look on the chart pertaining
to your residency. Full time is 12 semester hours or more.

I have attended Odessa College in the past, how can I get a transcript
of the classes that I took?
The Registrar's Office is responsible for printing transcripts.
Transcripts must be picked up by the student with a picture ID or
mailed by written request. Fax a written request to 432/335-6303
or mail the request to: Odessa College Registrar, 201 W. University,
Odessa, TX 79764.
Be sure to include your name, Social Security Number, where to mail
it, a telephone number where you can be reached and your signature.
Students who attended since Fall 2001 were charged a fee at registration
that covers the release of official transcripts. If you last attended
before Fall 2001, enclose a check for $3 or call the Cashier's Office
at 432/335-6419 with your credit card number.
