
The Dual-Credit Enrollment Program at OC
collegeNOW
High school juniors and seniors can earn college credit through Odessa College while they earn high school credit through their high school for selected courses. Students must have permission of the school district and must come from a school with an Articulation agreement with Odessa College. The collegeNOW program is open to students who:
- Have passed the appropriate TAKS test
- Have an overall high school grade point average of 3.0 or above in the semester immediately preceding enrollment in a college course or a score above the 90th percentile on the achievement sub-test in the content area of the course in which the student wishes to enroll.
- Have the approval of their high school counselor
- Pay tuition and fees for the college courses
High school students interested in collegeNOW enrollment opportunities should contact their high school counselor for assistance with course selection according to the high school collegeNOW class schedule. Students must be THEA exempt or must pass the THEA exam in the content area (s) of classes they wish to take
collegeNOW Academy
The Academy, an expansion of collegeNOW, offers additional courses beginning in the sophomore year, summer academic camps and increased student support. Students may take more than two classes per semester. Students must have the permission of the school district and must come from a school with an Articulation agreement with Odessa College. The collegeNOW Academy is open to students who:
- Have passed the appropriate TAKS test
- Have an overall high school grade point average of 3.0 or above in
the semester immediately preceding enrollment in a college course
or a score above the 90th percentile on the achievement sub-test
in the content area of the course in which the student wishes to
enroll.
- Student and parent must sign a Parental Contract
- Have the approval of their high school counselor
- Pay tuition and fees for the college courses
