All students are invited to apply for the following Foundation scholarships. All applicants will be evaluated by criteria set by donors and must be upheld to retain the award. Scholarships are awarded based on availability of funds each academic semester. Applications are good for one full academic year – fall, spring, and summer. Only complete applications will be considered. Applications for the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year are now accepted.

Rudy Acosta Endowed Scholarship
Minimum 2.5 GPA; May be used for tuition, fees, and /or books, Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. 10 hours of community service must be completed each semester of award; Award amounts are as follows: 6-8 hrs. - $800, 9-11 hrs. - $1000, 12 hrs. - $1300. Designated to students who do not receive other aid.
A.C. “Johnny” and Melba Bassett Endowment
Must be a graduate of Ector County Independent School District and 2.0 GPA. Award depends on available funds. Award pays tuition, fees, and /or required books.
Allied Health Title V Scholarship
Students must be seeking a degree or certificate in an Allied Health field - RN, LVN, or EMSP. High school graduate or equivalent. 2.5 GPA. Class attendance and GPA eligibility must be maintained and courses must be completed each semester of the award. 6 credit hours minimum enrollment status per semester is required. Award amounts - 6-8 hours $800; 9-11 hours $1000; 12+ hours $1300.
Ann & Vincent Becker “Apply Yourself More” Endowed Scholarship
Graduate of Ector County ISD or Midland ISD; Minimum 3.0 GPA; Part or full-time students; May be used for tuition, fees and books; Recipients must submit to a drug test and be subject to random tests during the duration of this award; 10 hours of community/leadership service required each semester of award.
Becker Educators Endowment
3.0 GPA, enrolled full and part-time, declared Education major, ECISD graduate, drug testing required and 10 hours of community service in Education. Award pays tuition, fees and 1/2 of required books as interest funds are available. (Not to exceed $1000).
Brandon Borchert Art Endowment
High school graduate with freshman or sophomore status, Art major, 3.0 GPA, full or part-time, Must complete all courses enrolled. Award is $500 per semester to be used. Candidates will be recommended by Art instructor, Barry Phillips, younger. Award pays tuition, fees, and/or required books.
Chevron Instrumentation Scholarship
Awarded to Instrumentation Majors or those seeking a certificate in Instrumentation, with a GPA of 2.5 overall and 3.0 in instrumentation courses, MUST BE APPROVED BY DEPARTMENT CHAIR. May receive other aid.
George Brewer "All It Takes Is Money" Memorial Scholarship
Preference to students pursuing a degree in mathematics and/or science related field. Student must be enrolled in 9 credit hours per semester of award. Must take at least one mathematics course or one science course (such as Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy/Physiology, or Computer Science) each semester of the award. Student must be a citizen of the United States. 3.0 GPA required. Pays towards tuition, fees, and books. May be used for summer courses with enrollment of 6 hours.
Department of English and Foreign Languages Majors Scholarship
Designated for English and Spanish Majors. Must have the equivalent of a High School Diploma. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in all English and Spanish Classes. 3.0 GPA must be maintained for the duration of the award. Full time - 12+ Hrs. Must be enrolled in a course in your major and provide proof of involvement in community service. Student may receive other aid, such as federal and state grants and other scholarships.
Troy Doelling Endowment
EMT/Paramedics only. Graduate of ECISD schools or a non-traditional student returning for a career change or professional development. 2.0 GPA, all courses must be completed during the semester, full or part-time. Award depends on the available funds.
The Ace G. and Bertha L. Doran Endowed Scholarship
Designated students: Outstanding health studies major interested in an Allied Health or medical technology field or any medical field; also, an outstanding student in pre-medical studies can be considered. Must maintain 3.0 GPA and have interest in an Allied Health or medical technology career, or any medical field.
Must have recommendation by the chair of the department. Pays full tuition, fees, and books. Full time enrollment.
The Russell K. and Maureen Doran Endowed Scholarship
Designated Student: Outstanding Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) major interested in medicine and/or related field(s). High School Graduate or non-traditional student. Must maintain 3.0 GPA and have declared a major in a STEM field of study. Student must be recommended by the chair of the department. Full-time enrollment. Full scholarship to pay for tuition, books and fees.
M. S. Doss Endowment
Full or part time student in pursuit of an Associate's degree and must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Award depends on available funds. Award pays tuition, fees and required books (not to exceed $1000). Student must be from high schools located in Western Texas anywhere WEST of a line drawn between Wichita Falls, Texas and Laredo, Texas or a high school located in Southeastern New Mexico.
ECISD Education Foundation
ECISD graduates, 2.5 GPA, can be part or full-time, must complete ALL hours enrolled during the semester. Award depends on enrollment status: 6-8 hours = $800; 9-11 hours = $1000; 12+ = $1300. 10 hours of community service will be required for the semester awarded; anything on the Texas Scholars list will be accepted.
Kirk Edwards Family Endowment
Designated to Student perusing Engineering Degree (STEM); Graduate of Ector County or OC Service area; Minimum of 2.5 GPA; Class attendance and minimum GPA of 2.5 must be maintained for duration of award; part or full-time enrollment; Award of $500 per semester.
The Energy Industrial Scholarship
Electrical, Electronics, OSHA, Welding, Automotive or Diesel Technology Major or pursuing a Certification. GPA 2.5 overall (including academic and technical courses)
with a 3.0 in technical courses. MUST BE APPROVED BY DEPARTMENT CHAIR. Scholarship will be used for Tuition, Fees, and Books or Kits from OC Bookstore. MAY receive other aid.
Fasken Fire Tech Scholarship
Student must pursue an Associate’s Degree or Certification in Fire Technology. A GPA of 2.5 must be maintained during the award. Award amount varies. Approval Fire Tech faculty required.
Ben and Ruth Florey Endowment
Award pays for tuition, fees, and/or required books. Full or part time students. Must complete all courses for the semester. ECISD graduate. Award pays for tuition, fees, and/or required books. Only for students who do not qualify for the Pell Grant.
Clara Hazel Freel Endowment
3.0 GPA, enrolled full or part-time and complete ALL hours during the semester. Award pays tuition, fees and required books as interest funds are available. (Not to exceed $1000).
Business Administration Major, preferably an accounting student with a GPA of 3.0. Must be a graduate of ECISD or OC service area. Full or part-time student.

The Dwain Handley Scholarship Fund for Sewell Auto Tech
Students with the intent of completing an Associate’s Degree with Certificate in Auto Technology; Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) or qualified first time students; 3.0 GPA or above for next semester eligibility; The most immediate prior semester determines your eligibility for scholarship. 100% Tuition & Fees The following semester, if the overall GPA for the prior semester is 4.0, If the GPA is between 3.0 & 3.9, the reimbursement is at 50% of the total tuition & fees. Other requirements:
• Minimum 9 hours per semester
• Applicant must be approved by The Sewell Family of Companies delegate.
• Scholarship will be used for tuition, fees, & books.
• Recipients may receive other aid
• Student will participate in 10 hours per semester of community service and provide such evidence prior to receipt of for next semester.

H-E-B Culinary Arts Scholarship
Students seeking a degree or certificate in Culinary Arts. 3.0 GPA. High school graduate or equivalent. Class attendance and GPA eligibility must be maintained and courses must be completed during each semester of the award. 6 credit hours minimum enrollment is required. Award $500 per semester as funds are available. Award to be used for tuition, fees, and books.
Glen T. Hunt Scholarship
Designated to Business Administration, Leadership, or Small Business Management Students; Minimum 3.0 GPA; Part or Full-time enrollment; May used for tuition, fees, and books; May be used in Summer session; Award $500 a semester.
JVR Science and Math Scholarship
Designated to Math or Science Major students; Minimum 3.0 GPA; 9 credit hour minimum enrollment requirement; May be used for tuition and fees; High School Graduate; Must take at least ONE science course (Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science) and ONE Math or CIS course each semester of the award; Must be a citizen of U.S.; Award may be used in Summer session.
Bill and Sharon Lipham Endowment
2.5 GPA must be maintained for the duration of the semester. High school graduated of OC service area. Full time, 12+ hours. Goal of graduating with an associates degree. No student athletes. Award for tuition, books, and fees. Can receive other aid.
Dr. Ashok Khosla Endowment
Must have a declared major in Science or English (physics majors will receive preference); Must complete a minimum of 9 hours at OC or have instructor's consent; Must be currently enrolled in a course in the required major; 3.0 GPA in the major courses and must have an overall GPA of 3.3 at OC. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE OFFICE OF ARTS DEAN.
Manufacturing Technology Scholarship
Students with intent of completing an Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Machine or Welding Technology. Candidate must be enrolled machine or welding technology, first preference given to machine technology students; Full or part-time enrollment; Current GPA 2.5 or qualified first time students; Applicant must be approved by the program department chair; Scholarship will be used for tuition, fees, and books, with remaining moneys from the award to be returned to scholarship fund; Student may receive other aid; Student MUST write a thank you note to donor within 30 days after the first day class, failure to do so will result in the loss of this scholarship award.
H.L. Mangrum Endowment
3.0 GPA, enroll and complete 12 hours per semester. Award pays tuition, fees and/or required books up to $1300.
Memorial Scholarship Endowment
All students, traditional and non-traditional. 2.5 GPA. Full or part-time student. Must complete all courses enrolled in that semester of award. 10 hours of community service required.
Mexican- American Scholarship Committee Endowment
High School Graduate or Non-traditional students; 2.25 GPA must be maintained for the duration of the award; Class attendance and GPA eligibility must be maintained and courses must be completed during each semester of the award; Full or part time student.
Midland Odessa Business & Estate Council (MOBEC) Scholarship
Designated for students seeking an associate’s degree in business or related field, with preference being in accounting or finance. At least 30 credit hours must be completed to be considered a candidate. Student must have plans to transfer to a 4 year university. GPA 2.5 to 3.0, with 3.0 taking preference. Student is required to attend a MOBEC club lunch meeting in Midland in the month of September. To be awarded in the Fall semester only.
Modern Gardener Nursing Endowment
Awarded to Students pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Must be accepted into the OC Nursing program; 2.75 GPA; All classes must be completed successfully and attendance maintained each semester.
Jim and Marilyn Morris Endowment
Sophomore, who has completed at least 30 hours, be an athlete in Men/Women’s Basketball and or Golf, 3.0 GPA, 1st generation student. Award pays $800 per semester as funds are available.
OC Andrews Scholarship
OC-Andrews scholarship is open until September 1st
- The applicant must be a current resident of Andrews County and/or be a graduate of Andrews High School, Andrews Education Center, Andrews Adult Literacy Program (G.E.D.), or Andrews Home School program.
- Scholarship funding will only be used for courses/programs offered through the Andrews Business and Technology Center. One class must be a face to face or hybrid class at the Andrew Tech Center. The remaining classes may be online courses.
- The applicant must maintain a 2.5 GPA on all course work funded by the scholarship in order to reapply for future OC Andrews scholarships.
- The applicant must complete and document 5 hours of community service during the semester in which they receive scholarship funding.
- The applicant must enroll a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (fall, spring, and/or summer).

PBWDB Childcare Scholarship
The purpose of the scholarships is improve the quality of child care offered in the facilities serving the Permian Basin. PBWDB believes trained/skilled caregivers can have the greatest impact on the care provided to our children. Quality child care has a long-term impact on the lives of children and positively impacts society by reducing the dropout rates and incarnation rates, and children are less likely to repeat a grade.
To be eligible for a scholarship, a caregiver must:
• Must be employed by a child care facility participating in the Board’s child care management services program as verified by the Board or the Board’s child care contractor for at least 30 hours per week at less than $15 per hour;
• Be 18 years of age or older;
• Be a Texas resident; and
• Be a U.S. citizen or a noncitizen authorized to work in the United States.

Pre-Engineering Title V Scholarship
For students seeking a degree in pre-engineering. High school graduate or equivalent. Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Class attendance and GPA eligibility must be maintained and courses must be completed during each semester of the award. 6 credit hours minimum enrollment status per semester is required. Award - 6-8 hours $800; 9-11 hours $1000; 12 + hours $1300.
The Chase Quine Memorial Scholarship Fund
Student enrolled full time and participating in the Odessa College Rodeo Program. Must have at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA). Approval of Rodeo Coach or Athletic Director.
Dr. Edwin Rathbun Endowment
High school graduate, freshman or sophomore accepted in Nursing program from Iraan. 3.0 GPA, full-time status, 12 hours must be completed each semester, awarded per semester to 2 students as funds are available. Must complete 15 hours of Community Service in Iraan and or Sheffield Health Facilities (Iraan hospital district). Award pays tuition, fees, and/or required books
Isabel Rea Endowment
Awarded to music students, full or part time, 3.0 GPA, the music director will recommend recipients to the committee for selection. Award will be per semester as funds are available. Award pays tuition, fees, and/or required books.
Jerry Reffner Golf Scholarship
High School graduate; GPA of 2.5; Full time enrollment, must complete all courses enrolled for during semester; Class attendance and GPA must be maintained to continue award; Eligible are students who exhibit the desire and determination to excel in the golf game. Student may receive other aid. Recommendation from the OC Athletic director.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rochester Endowment
Graduate of Permian or Odessa High, Career Center in Ector County or graduate of the OC service area, 3.0 GPA, full or part-time, Award pays per semester as funds are available. Award pays for tuition, fees, and /or required books.
Jack & Ruth Rodgers Endowment
Recipients must not be receiving state or federal aid. 3.0 GPA, enrolled full or part-time. ECISD graduate, 13 hours of community service is required in a Rotary Club. Award pays tuition and fees as interest funds are available. (Not to exceed $1000).
Jimmy Russell Scholarship
Full time enrollment with a 2.5 GPA. Golf Athlete with approval from OC Athletic Director. May receive other aid.
Gwendolyn Shiever Memorial Endowment
Student must have a 2.7 GPA and have an enrollment status of full or part time. Class attendance and GPA must be maintained and courses must be completed during each semester of the award. $300 per semester will be awarded.
Chloe Shinn Scholarship Endowment
Students must be pursuing an Associated Degree; 3.0 GPA; all courses must be completed during the semester; full or part time; award is per semester.
Jordan Squyres Scholarship Endowment
Full or part-time student; 2.5 GPA; Award pays towards tuition, fees and/or books.
Cress and Pauline Steele Scholarship
Full time student with a GPA of 2.5 maintained during duration of award. All courses registered for must be completed each semester. Students MAY receive of other aid.
Stripes College Scholarship Fund
To qualify, students must have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average (GPA), be enrolled as a full time student (at least 12 hours), be a US citizen or legal permanent residents. Recipient must be a resident of a Stripes operating county. Selected students must write a thank you note and complete a release agreement, obtained from the Foundation office, before award can be received.
Student Success Scholarship
2.5 GPA, enrolled full or part-time and complete ALL hours during the semester. Award depends on enrollment status:

10 hours of Community Service is required for this scholarship and must be completed at an approved Agency* before the semester ends to maintain eligibility. Award pays for tuition, fees and required books up to designated amounts. Any money left over will be returned to the Foundation.
The Jim Watkins Rodeo Scholarship Endowment
Students must be in good standing with OC or last school attended. 2.5 GPA; Class attendance and GPA eligibility must be maintained and courses must be completed during each semester of the award; Full time enrollment per semester; Students must be accepted into the Varsity Rodeo Program at OC.
Wells Fargo OC Honors Scholarship
High school graduate or non-traditional student wanting an Associate’s degree in Education; 3.0 GPA which must be maintained for the duration of the award; Courses must be completed during the each semester of the award; Full or part time status per semester. $500 per semester.
Wood’s Boots Rodeo Endowment
High school graduate, freshman or sophomore status in the Rodeo program, 2.0 GPA, full time enrollment, must complete all courses enrolled in for the semester. Award pays per semester as funds are available. Recipients will be recommended by the Wrangler Rodeo Coach.
